I have at last had an X-ray on my Rt knee shows severe arthritis with lack of joint space, I am seeing a private physio at the mo for my back. She has said I would be offered a knee replacement.
Just wondering if anyone has had a knee replacement on the leg where they previously had a DVt although 40 years ago on Warfarin since heart attack caused by clot, I know I would have to be bridged with clexane
I am going to phone Drs today

My husband had both knees replaced at the same time due to his blood clotting issues. Both of his legs are full of blood clots. He is currently taking Lovenox and came off for the day of the surgery and the next morning he was back on the Lovenox shots . He did well and had NO additional clots . Good luck to you !
Oops😸😭😸my text is filled with errors because I'm having a bad few days with invol movements. I'll send another email as soon as I can type without being extremely frustrated!
I had DVTs in my right leg in the mid 80s. I was not diagnosed with APS at that time, but I did take warfarin and the clots dissolved. Since then I have remained hyper-aware of behaviors that might create clots and I still keep my support stockings in case I need them. My ugly varicose veins never fail to remind me of my clot history. The coagulation events that lead to my APS diagnosis in 2000-2001 did not involve my legs --possibly due to my healthy leg circulation habits. I had my arthritic knee replaced in 2018 at Cleveland Clinic with no coagulation problem. A CC vascular doctor participated in the pre and post op practices. I bridged with lovanox and had no clotting problems.
I am facing the reality of needing BOTH knees replaced. DVT in left leg is unchanged from early 2020 and APS diagnosed in May 2021. I'm very concerned about surviving the surgery. But life in a wheelchair has its concerns as well. No one said it would be easy....
Thanks all, I spoke to my Doctor and he agreed to refer me, I have asked to go private for a consultation, living in the U.K. hopefully I will get op on nhs, if needed, although because of Covid it would probably take years! I haven’t got health insurance so won’t get op done privately
