Going stir crazy: Lock down is getting... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Going stir crazy
Hi there, sorry you are struggling. Just been looking at your very informative profile, thank you! I hadn't seen the article by Dr Shoenfeld before. Hope Buddy is doing well and keeping you good company. I keep looking out of the window watching the daffodils and bluebells poking through, and hoping for an early spring. It has been raining all afternoon so I managed another chapter of the only thing that I put on my Christmas list - Datis Kharrazian's 'Why Isn't My Brain Working'. Highly recommended. Hang in there, we'll get through it. Best wishes.
Hi there, sorry you are troubled, it is very tedious and stressful, the lock down, do contact all your friends if you feel like it, hae some group chats, they will be pleased to hear from you, big hugs. MaryF xx
Any good series on Netflix or Hulu lately?
Any good movies?
Any new recipes?
The lock down has not been fun. Books? Puzzles? Spring Cleaning? Every year I dread Spring Cleaning of the house, especially the closets. I've been doing it for 3 weeks now, just taking a 1/2 hour in the morning and another 1/2 hour in the afternoon, and its been going better than expected. I hope you find something to keep your mind off of it, even for a little bit and before you know it, it will be Spring and we can at least get outside for some fresh air. Be Well.
Thanks all some good suggestions... this to shall pass🙃
It’s nice to get the old photo albums out and reminisce .it has become tedious and makes us lazy.first lockdown at least we could get outside in the garden.Have tried to think ahead and order a new greenhouse but stockists seem to be struggling getting hold of them so it’s all a waiting game with everything. At least we can have a little chat on here🤝😀
Where do you live? What are the restrictions there? I live in Minnesota, surrounded by big trees, deer and goofy wild turkeys. I would love a greenhouse, it sounds wonderful! Now to convince my husband that. My kids, cooking and cleaning have kept me busy. My daughter and I are learning to weave a rag rug. I hope it turns out. Hang in there! I see the light at the end of this tunnel!
Hi
Everyone I speak to seems to feel the same whatever their age or previous life before the pandemic. Know that you are not alone. I had a chat this morning with my GP about the different vaccines. He was very bright and breezy and said he is beginning to feel and see an end to the pandemic and we discussed hope and I reminded him if you take the first letter from each letter from the word hope and put them horizontal it can read Have only positive expectations. Exactly what hope is. He said he would pass that on.
Like all the lovely people here I have also binged watched the crown and various other things. I have beaten my husband at scrabble at last. Cleaned out all the cupboards and have done a lot of sizzix projects which is paper crafting. I can't work at the moment so this is all alien to me to have so much time. I have read a silly Cooper book which made me smile but I feel discombobulated as well. I put a bunch of daffodils in the kitchen which I got from the supermarket which really cheered me. I think its all the small steps and little wins.
Yesterday I helped my six year old granddaughter with her writing over FaceTime (they are in Scotland) as she wanted to write a letter of complaint to the tooth fairy about her little sister who is irritating her as they are home all the time. Her sister is three lol. Everyone seems to feel it. Poor tooth fairy have no idea what she will do to sort it.
I think we will all look back on this time soon and say I did this or that or maybe remember it awfully depending on our journeys. It is hard on everyone and thank goodness for the lovely people on this lovely platform. Hello to everyone.
Big Hugs xx

Awwe
Tooth Fairy sorted it, she left some more money to replace what her little sister decided to put into her money box. The one with no hole and had to break to get the money out. They are best of friends once more and playing nicely with Barbies again. Thank goodness for the Tooth Fairy. Little one annoyed as her teeth don't come out and therefore cannot get money left under her pillow. Life is hard but easily solved with chocolate ....... If only Covid was so easy. Glad they are innocent to what is happening in the world.

Hello and big hugs to you, too! What a lovely catch up with you. Made me want to sit down with you in your kitchen with you and see your nice daffodils, chat and look at your creative craft projects, but mainly read that letter to the tooth fairy!
That’s so funny- I guess it is hard for her though... a three year old sister 24/7 must get on her last nerve. ( but that is really a cute story!)
That should read Jilly Cooper lol xx
2 years ago, I enrolled into an online seminary class, called The Iona Collaborative, hosted by the Seminary of the Southwest. This, my final year, concentrates on theology -- which is, for me, the most challenging subject. So ... I have lots to read and ponder. I recently found, via a friend, that Harvard is offering free online courses in a variety of subjects. Free! (got that?) FREE! From Harvard! The trick is --- if you want credit when the course is over, THEN you have to pay a fee to have your participation recored. Or you might explore the "Great Course" offering. They also offer subjects I would like to pursue were not all my free time now consumed with my Iona course.
And as far as videos -- I greatly enjoyed Season 1 of BBC's new "All Creatures Great and Small" available in total on PBS platforms, or in the broadcast, once-a-week format. Excellent! Much more closely aligned with Harriet's books.
And one more -- I have taken to calling all people in my church (mostly elderly) once a month. I keep a log. Initially, most calls were terse with "Thank you for checking. Yes I'm fine. Bye." Now those chats typically take 30-180 minutes!
We are all in this together!
