Yes, you are not the first, I hope you continue to be monitored and help to resolve the clot as soon as possible, sorry this has happened to you. MaryF

They should give you some meds to take for the pain on discharge. Make sure you do a few breathing exercises to prevent getting Pneumonia. (It does hurt to take a deep breath but useful in the long term)

Hi, you need to check with your GP what pain meds you can take, not sure from your post whether you have been diagnosed with Hughes/APS and if so have been put onto anticoageration? This can eliminate some pain tablets. If your on morphine and this is still not controlling the pain please let your doctor know. Hope you feel better soon.

Oh, well- not a very good way to ring in the new year at all!

Your pain medication will depend on what anticoagulant you will be discharged with. That’s the key. We can’t say at all.

Please take very good care...

If you have been diagnosed with Antiphospholipidsyndrome and have had a clot you should have a Specialist and first of all Anticoagulation like Warfarin etc.

If you have got Thyroidissues (you have joined the thyroid site I see) APS often go hand in hand with other autoimmun illnesses. Wonder also if you have got relatives with these symptoms? May run in families. Find out if you have got APS and if so get anticoagulation.
