I can´t upload the file..but this i sthe name of the enzyme and a little information

Nattokinase (pronounced nat-oh-KY-nase) is an enzyme (EC 3.4.21.62) extracted and purified from a Japanese food called natto. Natto is made from fermented soybeans and has been eaten in Japan for many years. Natto is produced by fermentation by adding the bacterium Bacillus natto to boiled soybeans. Nattokinase is produced by the bacterium acting on the soybeans. While other soy foods contain enzymes, it is only the natto preparation that contains the specific nattokinase enzyme.

In spite of its name, nattokinase is not a kinase enzyme, but a serine protease of the subtilisin family. It exhibits a strong fibrinolytic activity[2][3]. Nattokinase can now be produced by recombinant means[4][5] and in batch culture[6][7], rather than relying on extraction from Natto.

Nattokinase was first isolated and marketed under the name of NSK-SD in 1998 by Japan Bio Science Laboratory, which had removed vitamin K2.[8]

Nattokinase is sometimes promoted in the alternative medicine community as a clot-buster and blood thinner or as a substitute for daily aspirin therapy. However, this substitution is not recommended since there is no evidence that nattokinase is effective in preventing cardiovascular disease.[9] Nattokinase may interact with aspirin to increase the risk of intracranial hemorrhage.[10]

There does appear to be evidence for the effectiveness of nattokinase in treating heart disease: [11]

Hello Luz,

I've been posting here about the fact that I've unable to take either warfarin or heparin because I am a hemophiliac (low factor viii levels, moderate). I started taking nattokinase 4 years ago and it probably saved my life. I was having, literally, up to 4-6 tia's a month and had one stroke (11/06). It was not large but left permanent damage, although small - I was very lucky. Nattokinase works on the fibrinogen. However, I have just had my anti-cardiolipin antibodies checked and they are extremely high, 118. So, nattokinase has been wonderful but does not do everything. I still cannot take the other meds because of my situation, but I have read that it can be an alternative or adjunctive. There have been tests done, but not on huge basis. I would not suggest stopping your warfarin, but do research on your own. I would explain more but the stroke damage does limit me here.... and it's 3am..... ;-)

The nice thing about nattokinase is that there are absolutely no side effects. I so wish the FDA here in the states would do testing, they refuse and it seems there are politics involved. The Japanese have done some nice testing. I further would say that if anyone is going to use it as an adjunct or take it that they purchase pharmaceutical grade and make sure it has no vitamin K. Oh, one last thing, it is best used by people who have not had any events (unlike me). It is not to be thrown out as some garbage, this is a valuable product, but not to be jumped on and to throw away ones valuable medicine!

Hope this helps a bit.

Forgive the political intrusion -- this is the result of Reagan's removing " government" from this testing process. Currently, the FDA can only verify the validity of testing a private business does. And, of course, if no private business can profit then no testing is done. Since nattokinase is a natural substance and can not be exclusively patented, well . . . That's that. It like so many other natural but effective treatments, is relegated to "alternative" medicine. Sad. And possibly a huge waste!

This is very interesting - I have had to come off aspirin because of gastritis and lots of tiny ulcers. I shall investigate further - thanks and good luck!

hi! I go to a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, she and my regular Doctor tried this to see if I could get off my Lovenox. We did this for 6 months. I was watched very closely and tested to make sure my PT/INR was staying where it should be. This didn't work for me. No matter how much I used - my blood still wasgetting too thick and sticky and it came to the point where the doctors wanted me back on Lovenox so I didn't have a DVT. I'm sure if you use it WITH Coumadin -ask your Doctor - it could help.

Hi luz

Welcome and glad you found us. Hope you feeling ok today.

We always on the lookout for other options, however, be cautious and always discuss with your medical team before commencing any alternative treatment.

Take care gentle hugs love Sheena xxxx :-) :-) :-)

I have been taking nattokinase and serrapeptase for

Two and a half years.

Brain fog gone. Migraines infrequent. AF now infrequent.

Back pain much reduced. Much less fatigue.

All symptoms greatly reduced.

Interestingly my back joints are now OK.

Playing Golf again and no leg pain.

However still stiff in the morning and finger joints still affected.

I have found hyperbaric oxygen to work well.

I will be going for three sessions next week.

I am looking at taking CM (Cetyl myristoleate) for my finger joints.

By the way nattokinase and serrapeptase

Must Not

Be taken with aspirin or warfarin (coumadin) or heparin or

Any other blood tinner or anticoagulant.

I leave 12 hours before consuming alcohol.

When stopping wafarin it will take many days for warfarin and its

effects to leave the system. At least 2 weeks.
