I wonder if you are still travelling a lot and if you now got a selftesting machine?
I dose myself since several years and selftest and I hope you have a Specialist who gives you all help you may need with this tricky illness. If you are positive to Lupus Anticoagulant (one of the 3 antibodies they test for APS) it can be difficult to keep the INR in range sometimes.
My advice is you get a bloodtest today in the vein if you are worried and hope they do not change your dose of Warfarin much at all. I very seldom change my dose as it can very quickly go too low also. Do you have something like a Fragminshot to take when the INR is under 3.0? You do not have to be afraid if you are up to 4.0 (but you do not know that now) as many of us (me included) need to be at an INR of 4.0 to be safe from symptoms.
Hi actually I just travelled and will be here for six weeks.
I haven’t got the machine to self test yet as they advised me to wait.
I had a blood test yesterday in the arm and it was at 2.6 so they have increased my dose a bit.Im just worried why my gums bleed as I have rarely had this problem
I do not know why. At such a low INR as 2.6 it can not be caused by APS and too high INR. That is too low. Why should you wait for a selftestmachine? Do you have a Specialist to talk to?
Take a bloodtest in the vein to find out the actual INR. Do not wait to contact the Hematologist. He or she is probably responsible for your anticoagulation and wants to know.
Are you able to check in with your dentist? It would be good to rule out a gum problem. Also us lot are prone to Anaemia, and that can cause gum bleeding, please ask your GP to do some tests. MaryF
