I have had investigations for systemic lupus erythematosus. The criteria was changed last year I believe midway through investigations. I was 2 points short on old test and 1 short on the new one. No medication offered just 75mg aspirin daily.
The “Criteria” is only one aspect for a diagnosis of SLE. This is not to be confused with the lupus anticoagulant test for APS which confuses doctors & patients.
If you think you need to see a lupus specialist then ask for a referral. Not all rheumatologists are expert in SLE.
Diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical symptoms and as they may develop over time, many doctors will not make a diagnosis unless they are certain.
