Adrenal Gland
Hi there, this is about Adrenal Disease in general: nadf.us/adrenal-diseases/ad... I also enclose this paper: hindawi.com/journals/crie/2... Has your medical team also checked your Thyroid function adequately? Beyond just your TSH, as at times that is also a link, if your Thyroid is struggling. I hope you feel better soon. MaryF
Yes they just did about 4 months ago -- i am weak and fatigue is horrible, pains in calves and thighs--having to rely heavy on pain meds and don't want to - going back to PCP in about 11/2 months-setting another appointment in next few weeks with Supervising nurse - many other specialists in between so need to find cause other than i am ancient LOL
I've been tested for various adrenal problems, including cancers - due to presenting with very high blood pressure ("malignant hypertension" - possibly called that because of the cancer link) - and Addison's, the latter more than once (but always coming back negative). The first time I was tested for Addison's was after a routine rheumatology appointment, something in what I said must have pointed towards it as a differential, but at that point she just told me she wanted to test for "another autoimmune problem".
I think that last thing is the key - autoimmunes often occur together, seems once your immune system starts misfiring it tends to be at multiple targets - Addisons co-occurs with APS rather than being linked to it (other than being autoimmune). It is rare, and also can be difficult to diagnose, particularly atypical ones.
