Hiya all. Today I’ve been told of a food supplement that is pure antioxidants and vitamins and no other supplements are needed eg vit D etc. I get totally confused with this type of thing. If it’s supposed to boost the immune system, would that make us feel worse as it’s the immune system that attacks our bodies? Or would it be a good thing to do to boost the immune system. Would it affect the medications we take? Can anyone explain to a simpleton?? Thank you.

Antioxidants?
Hi in answer to your question, always check with your main medical consultant before starting anything new especially for patients on medications such as Warfarin.
I am not on Warfarin, so I eat an anti oxidant styled Mediterranean diet and exercise daily and take a host of very good supplements, however I do have in the background, a very good top of the range nutritionist who has trained under some of the best people in the world who I can check in with. Also certain things like Elderberry and Echinacea can alter the white cell blood count so could potentially make you flare, I certainly flared in my youth trying those two out, before realising what was wrong with me, and my full range of autoimmune disease. I try and take as much from my diet as possible, ie being gluten free I eat 5 brazil nuts a day to make sure I don't become Selenium deficient etc. MaryF
Thank you Mary, I will check with consultant. It’s great to know you are there to check with😊
