APS and contraception and Warfarin and breastfeeding

Hello everyone! I was diagnosed with APS during pregnancy. I had my healthy baby 7 weeks ago :) I am wondering what contraception is adequate, since the pill is completely forbidden to APS patients.

Has anyone breastfed while on Warfarin? Thanks a lot!

Congratulations on the birth. Glad all went safely for you.

I don’t believe you can be on warfarin when breast feeding, I “think” it has to be lovenox but I am not sure.

I would say condoms!

I could not be on the birth control pill at all- ever- due to my mothers severe clotting history. OBGYN would not prescribe for me.

( little did we know at the time I kept miscarrying due to APS but luckily we did manage two healthy children.)

We used the cervical cap.

Congratulations, my little boy is also 7 weeks old 😃

You are able to take the mini pill, as this is safe for APS patients and I have taken it for years.

I have always been told that it is safe to breast feed on warfarin, and I think the leaflet inside the box may comment on it. I am on an alternative now so can’t check, sorry.

Your gp, and I guess a pharmacist, should be able to check for you though.

Hope you are also healthy after the birth.
