Temporal arthritis, any help appreciated

Giant cell temporal arthritis, newly diagnosed today or at least the GP seems convinced. Sent me home with bucket full of steroids and review again Friday.

GP on leaving Said it was nice to see someone poorly for a change......

Feeling very unwell, head and jaw pain are excruciating, things must improve, what should I expect?

Any comments or advice would be most welcome

For now, I enclose the NHS page on this, thank goodness your GP was on the ball! The diagnosis of it sooner rather than later helps. nhs.uk/Conditions/giant-cel... MaryF

A friend of mine was diagnosed with this about a year ago. It often occurs with another disease called polymyalgia rheumatica. There is a forum for both conditions here:

healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk

They should be able to help you with a lot of your questions.
