Hi before you have your operation the various medical staff will presumably be having a meeting to discuss your bridging requirements with medication, you must ask your main Hughes Syndrome/APS specialist to run this by you, to reassure you. MaryF

Tim_Thorpe just remind them... I went in for one procedure and filled in the standard entry form in the waiting room. "Oh" says receptionist "you're on warfarin, I think that's a complication". They had not even checked, despite it being all over my notes and part of the logic for surgical referral...

If you don't get a bridging plan and leave it too late, they may not be able to operate, so check.

You will then be kept at the right state for the op- fragmin/clexane before, stopped in time for op, then restarted straight after to minimise clotting risk. They'll then reintroduce your normal anti-coag.

Good luck, feel better soon!
