You should really check it out with your doctor. There are a lot of reasons that you could have "funny taste," which could even be nerve damage or problems in your brain. It could possibly be a side effect we don't know about. Once I lost my taste after acupuncture. I ate an orange that tasted like water. The acupuncturist had hit a nerve. It was very weird, but it went away in a couple of hours.
Yes check to see if u have Sjogrens Syndrome! I have this and RA! Sjogrens affects ur eyes ad mouth area! I have trouble swallowing, swollen throat, ad restricted airways! Not sure if all that has to do with SJOGRENS, but swallowing and my tastebuds are affected! I brush my teeth multiple times a day due to dry mouth, which leads to bad breath! I also drink lots of water! I had bloodwork and was told by my eye doc I had this diseas that goes with APS! Check ur thyroid and vitamin D levels! Good luck and Godspeed!!!
Taste disturbance is a known side effect of warfarin, and I had it for a few months, however it has now either gone away or I have adapted to the new way stuff tastes. Sometimes I found things tasted weirdly over-enhanced which sounds similar to what you describe. The tongue is very vascular and very sensitive so I think any anti-coagulant could affect it - maybe our tongues were actually desensitized due to poor blood flow that is now corrected, and are now working normally, but our brains have been amplifying taste for a while to compensate and now need to learn to turn it down a bit.
