Very personal alil worried
HI, this varies between women, age, medication and other conditions can all affect people very individually, please check in with your GP or consultant if you are at all worried. MaryF
Hi. If you are feeling that there is a problem, then there probably is. For me I felt like this but said nothing - until it became a very real problem (anaemia plus general unwellness; having to lie on my bed for 3 days a month and change and then wash my lower clothing 2 or 3 times a day; feeling down, etc). There are various potential solutions if you push for a referral to a gynae, if your GP isn't very forthcoming - I've gone with a Mirena coil (which releases a very small amount of progesterone which mainly remains in the uterus) and am very happy with it. Best wishes.
Hi I really feel for you, my periods have always been 8 days long and heavy, but since warfarin especially so, I'm seeing my local gynae on 23rd Nov to see if anything can help I'm scared of going out one to two days per month, the tiredness is terrible and I feel funny that whole week, and the week before too, even less energy... It's amazing how we stay alive lol!!! You need a referral for peace of mind, and when I went to my family planning clinic they wouldn't touch me or prescribe anything without a letter from consultant! I hope you find something to help. The coil didn't help for me, I'm hoping the implant or injection will, though I'm psychotic off them and will probably end up living alone ha x my poor husband and kids!!!x
I had a hysterectomy at age 40 but always had heavy bleeding. For me it was the best thing since sliced bread as my family was complete. You can get your blood checked to see if you're anemic (and bear in mind it always looks huge loss) My daughter uses a "diva cup" a reusable silicone cup and you can accurately measure how much blood loss there is. You then have a proper idea to go to your doctor. The average blood loss is anywhere from 10-35ml per period so if you are having more than this see your doctor.
Here would only be advice. Your best is to contact your medical professional.
