Unrefreshing sleep?

Does anyone have unrefreshing sleep? You can sleep 9 or 10 hours, and wake up feeling tired like you need more sleep? I'm just wondering what causes this.

One of the joys of chronic health problems and autoimmune disease. I have this, but since treating my Thyroid and making sure I keep D, B12 and iron up to speed I have had some improvement, but not all the time. MaryF

I have this all the time I have been known to sleep for 18 hours at a stretch and still be exhausted. I have to have a couple of hours sleep in the afternoon as well and if I don't get it I'm in a terrible state. I don't know what causes it. I know some people are on planaqunil ( sp) and that's supposed to help I'm gonna ask rhumy about it when I c him next week.

A slow untreated Thyroid can cause this! MaryF

I went after my thyroid first before APA antibodies were detected. What I learned was that I had high cortisol levels and high cortisol can cause cellular resistance to all hormones, including thyroid hormone and even cortisol itself.

I'm just looking for the mechanism behind it. If it's because of thick blood, then that should be relatively straight forward by raising INR, no?

I'll tell you I have the same problem no matter how much sleep I get I am always exhausted all day. I'm hoping to get some more answers soon on why this occurs at the moment I was positive with LA so I am just on warfarin. My INR they are keeping on the lower side usually ranging around 2.1-2.3

Hi

I feel like this every day and unfortunately just another symptom of APS I'm told and doesn't improve at all no matter what my INR is.

Autoimmunity means an immune system which is out of balance. When an immune system is allowed to run rampant

, that system uses up a lot of the body's energy reserves. We all know how tired we can feel in the day or 2 before the influenza virus manifests with its full nose, body ache and soar throat force? Well, us autoimmune patients can feel like that all the time-- in a state of perpetual day-before-the-flu blues.

An effective treatment will lessen the number of these exhaustion days, so -- my best wishes for you and your doctor finding the best mix for you.

Yes I sleep day and night, with not much wake inbetween, especially when stressed

I am exhausted all the time! having a three year old and 4 year old doesn't help! But my husband lets me rest on weekends when he is not working. If anybody has a miracle cure then I would love to hear it!

Glad I'm not the only one who experiences this. I often say to my husband how just once I want to wake up feeling well rested and refreshed.
