I had my dermatology app and they now think the thinning of my hair is due to lichen planus of the scalp does anyone have this and do u know if it is aps related...waiting for biopsy of the scalp app

This does show up a lot in patients who have thyroid problems, this can also cause the hair to thin out if not treated. Be aware that the standard TSH test does not pick up all patients! MaryF

I have mentioned that to them after you advised it last time they didnt seem concerned will mention it again. also they asked about my periods and said about hormones but havnt done a hormone test. gotta wait for app now for hosp to see consultant and have biopsy. thanks mary

Ok a good list of symptoms here: for both Hashimotos, Hypothryoidism, and Hyperthyroidism. My tests were clear also, I had to invest some considerable time and finance outside of the NHS for it to show up, which it did, significantly so. thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/

Also good to check your vit b, d, and iron levels also, these can all affect hair growth. MaryF
