You could phone your Gp, defiantly stay at home only because of the bug , it takes a few days for Warfarin to take effect, I am not sure of the exact answer to your question but I wouldn't worry to much if we're me.

Phone your Gp to reassure you

I have just have a diarrhe. The expert nurse told me to test my INR tomorrow (I selftest).

Today the INR is ok but I emptied my whole stomach yesterday night and today. I did not womit. Great stomachpain thus. If the INR most likely rise I have to reduce my warfarindrug.

She told me that the INR most probably will rise, as you loose your K-vitamin. As daisyd said; phone your GP and ask for a new INR test soon.

Best wishes from Kerstin in Stockholm

When I got the sick bug last year I didn't bother the GP because I knew it would go after a couple of days. I thought my inr would drop, but in fact it shot up. The nurse told me it was because I wasn't eating so,warfarin wasn't being absorbed. If you're not self testing then check when you should be tested.

Hi I would ring up GP if unsure, and keep bug away from surgery unless it becomes unmanageable in which case they would probably want to see you anyhow, of course you know to keep an eye on your INR. Hope you are better soon. MaryF

i think i would let PCP know and let them work on it for you--and keep an eye on your inr.

hope you feel better soon -------------- C & J

I feel worse today think its flu and the gp told me I didn't qualify for flu jab a few months ago when I asked. On a good note I was only sick once. To top it all off im having really bad ovulating pains so can't walk very well or get up the stairs. This is something I have suffered with for 11 years but docs won't do anything about it. Sorry to go on its just nice to talk to get it all out. Think my family R abit fed up of listening to me. Xxx

So sorry to hear that also now when it is Christmas soon. It is so important to have a doctor that cares and understands what you tell him.

Just cheques your INR!

Best wishes and hope you will soon be better and a Merry Christmas to you from Kerstin.

Chicken soup! :-)

I was curious about why you didn't "qualify" for a flu jab?

My experience has been here in the States they push everyone to get them.

You can't get in to see the doctor or go into the pharmacy without a "team" at the front door, starting in October, asking if you've gotten the shot, and if not, they jab you then and there, no charge. (After pulling up your records, of course.)

Especially if it is worse on your body with APS if you do get sick, why not some intervention?!

I've found the concern with vomiting is that your INR goes down, depending when you took your last dose. You throw the warfarin up before it completely gets into your system...

So when sick, frequent testing!

Snuggle up and get well.
