I have been told that you can have bad side effects from it. Anyone got any advice xx
I've been offered the flu jab now im ... - Hughes Syndrome A...
I've been offered the flu jab now im on warfarin but im a bit unsure of having it done.
I've been having the flu jab for years, six when on warfarin and have been fine. I would never consider not having it as I do not want to get flu and my GP doesn't want me to either.
But if you are concerned the best thing to do is consult your doctor or practice nurse.
When I went to have mine this year I had to sign a waiver form and on it said that being on warfarin was a risk factor but it didn't say why ....I had it anyway and was fine.
I would check with your medical team.
I have been having the flu jab for years and have been on warfarin for the same, my GP said itwas better to have it than not.
Thanks for replies its nice to hear everyone opinion. I will speak to nurse when i see her xx
I've had the flu jab a few times and i'm on warfarin. The only effect it has on me, is a slight dead arm at the injection sight. I was told that it can be dangerous for people with APS to get flu as it's hard to fight off. Think I'd rather have the jab and put up with a sore arm for a couple of days! Everyone reacts differently to the jab though, so if concerned, it's best to discuss it with your GP or consultant. Sally x x
Years ago I asked my rheumatologist about the flu shot as I have multiple drug allergies. He said flu shot is fine for nearly everyone and that I should get it. Sadly, he added, I should probably not get the pneumonia shot, and may become an issue as I age.
Wow, I'm always afraid of the flu shot but maybe i should get it. I did, however, get the pneumonia shot.
