Meeting at C.A.B.

I've been to C.A.B. today as they are helping me fight an appeal against D.L.A. Stopping my money....don't rate much to the success of it, but hoping that another voice heard may help someone else or convince the government (if enough voices are heard) to reconsider what they are doing to disabled people and the effect taking it away does to us!!

I know it effects me as I now don't have enough money to cover my outgoings!! And that's without the extra home comforts like land line, sky etc!!

I have recently separated so have private rent to pay & had to start all over again with furniture etc...

The government needs to may even consider another benefit or offer help for those that can't work for others but want to work, but due to the variation of good days bad days like people like us....we can't!....and there's no inbetween help/benefit??

I am trying to sort out my own photography business, but am struggling, I've even considered going back for work elsewhere as getting so desperate now...but I know it won't help me healthwise..

I've already had 3 relapses since I received the letter from D.L.A. 6 wks ago due to stress.

They took me off after 12 years of receiving DLA by the way!.... c.a.b. seem to think I stand a good chance...with their help also a letter my gp has typed for me......if I can get it there s no saying others cant got to go back nx wk & finish it off, I was in there for 2 hrs earlier!! she was disgusted that they are treating people like this & wants to help anyway she can, she is the main lady there too!! I explained due to the money being stopped I'm having to reconsider going to have to work for someone to cover my bills...which I know will have an effect hugely on my health also I cant afford to go to my specialist in London either due to lack of money!! so who knows? fingers crossed ey?!!

Suzy so far I have won 3 tribunals, at the last one the panel gave me back my award before even questioning me, and after questioning me they decided I needed a higher award than I was getting. The stress caused by these tribunals is so much and puts my life on hold during the process, at my last tribunal I finally got an indefinite award (yay) but as most of us know we soon all have to reapply for PIP (boo). Obviously my claim is bound to be turned down again and all the stress will start. I work but only because my employers are so supportive of my condition and tolerant of my higher sick leave. Keep fighting as I do as we are paving the way for others with our condition and making it better known how debilitating the condition can be.

Thank you, yes the person I'm seeing is hopeful, your story seems promising too :-) I agree, the more that kick off and fight for the help / money needed maybe one day they'll listen to us & realise Hughes is serious!!! X
