Does anyone get sore throat and feel they have a virus?

Every winter I get sore throats and feel like I have a cold coming but mostly it comes to nothing and the doctor will say my throat looks fine. Been like this for a couple of weeks now or possibly more. Anyone else get this?

I know that before warfarin I seemed to get one every night as if I was about to catch something. They are a lot better now but it seems as soon as I'm out of energy I get the sore throat and feel really cold. Resting helps them both to go.

That is me! I am suffering from physical and mental exhaustion at the moment partly from family problems but mainly endless hospital appointments trying to sort out my eye.

My husband can't believe it when I am sitting in the chair heating full blast wrapped in a blanket with two hot water bottles and shivering with cold. Guess it's all part of the Hughes.

Yes I get this a lot.

I tend to spray my throat with Vicks Chloroseptic which tends to keep things at bay and then I usually tend to fight this off myself without needing antibiotics. I had my tonsils taken out and I do feel I can self manage much much better now whereas before I was always on antibiotics.

As a child and young adult I forever had tonsillitis but since then they have been viral in nature so no antibiotics. I take paracetamol and anti bacterial throat lozenges but will try the spray. At the moment I could cheerfully climb into bed and stay there!

I have a cough and sore throat much of the time but think mine is mostly caused by acid regurgitation which comes with some conditions and some meds.

Before life on warfarin it was possible to have a good dose of garlic to keep the bugs (and people :-) ) at bay

Acid regurgitation is horrible - fortunately for me don't get it too often.

I used to try all sorts of things before warfarin but can't do this now. My inr is all over the place at the moment.
