Hi there, some simple blood tests will do it.. although I was sero negative for decades.. only having just passed a test:

londonlupuscentre.co.uk/lup...

It is an easy test for your GP to order....also Lupus UK on here is a good source of advice. Mary F x

Which blood test finally came positive for you Mary?

I only found out last November that I tested positive for anti Ro at St Thomas in 2004 but nobody told me or my GP.

I was at one point told I had Sjogrens but in April this year at the grand old age of 51 Prof Hughes sent me home with a leaflet on a Lupus in relation to the anti Ro.

However I still feel confused as to absolute exact diagnosis. Oddly I instigated going to St T's in 2003 as I was sure I had lupus due to my symptoms which incidentally are getting much worse right now.

I had a positive ANA result with speckled pattern result indicating also mixed connective tissue disease which fits... with everything. Mary F x

Hi Mary, sorry I am such a novice but what does that mean? My ANA blood test result sheet stated weak positive with speckled pattern.

1. mayoclinic.com/health/ana-t...

2. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Hope this explains things. Mary F x

Thanks for this Mary. Can't open the links on my phone but will check later on the laptop. Actually results said positive but was told by doc that it was a weak positive and used to diagnose Sjogrens syndrome.

I am in same quandary as to wether I have Lupus - ANA has been positive with high titre and homogenous pattern several consecutive times - currently diagnosed with unspecified connective tissue disorder and fibromyalgia plus just had second acl positive with history of Tia's and PEs so expecting APS diagnosis when I see consultant this week

I've been told I have Lupus like symptoms but not tested positive for Lupus. In my head I have Lupus at my doctors they have listed Lupus as one of my conditions too. I have a lot of lupus symptoms including the sun sensitive rash.

I have been diagnosed with APS with lupus symptoms. I have not tested positive for Lupus but have many things associated with it.
