I am waiting for a pacemaker. I was told it was a crt-s. I do not know the difference between this and a CRT-D
How long does it take to get over the insertion as I want to go skiing later this winter?

Hi, the absolute answer should come from your cardiologist, and you need to be very clear with them at the level of exercise you plan.I had an ICD (two leads) implanted in March. I had problems from the outset with lots of interventions, pacing and shocking. A lead had become detached. I was diligently following the limitations for arm movement etc but to no avail. I had to have the device and one lead removed and then re inserted . Additional securing procedures were done on the second go and I was even more diligent regarding the advice.
Essentially you have absolutely restricted left arm mobility for 6 weeks and general issues re lifting weights etc for the same period.
Thinking about skiing I can imagine needing to think very cautiously about rehabilitation period before this, not least considering a fall at speed.
You do not want to go through a lead problem and refit. Lots of additional risks.
As I said, you should ask your cardiologist.
I hope it all goes well.
