Iv had two heart surgeries for pulmonary valve replacement. Had my last echo a month ago and everything looks normal. About a week after that iv been having heart palpitations every single day and extreme tiredness and slight chest discomfort. Iv had it before but last times was because I was pregnant or anemia. It's none of these and I'm terrified of what is causing it. I can't relax. Iv had to have time off work and I have two young children. Iv been to a and e and had ECG. Blood test which came back fine. I have to wait another four weeks for a twenty hour ECG. I don't think I can last that long I'm at my wits end. Any advice or similarities will be appreciated my anxiety is through the roof

Palpitations, chest pain, dizziness
Well, I haven't your background with valves; that will add to your worry, I am sure; but each day for a good while I have had those similar palpitations and discomfort, sometimes spreading onto my back and under my left rib, almost as if it were gastric or mild angina. And it is worrying. But, I have had similar on and off since 2019 when my atrial flutter started, and the ablation, even if it did sort that out, did nothing for the palpitations and discomfort.
Asking here before, it seems some others do get similar. I have been assured it's of no consequence and not something to worry about (as if!). I have little doubt yours will turn out to be the same. It's palpitations, I guess, runs of them, maybe coming in twos and threes, that cause the feelings and they are, essentially, very unlikely to be of concern (I am told).
The 24-hour ECG monitor might be what you need or, like me, even a 7-day one wasn't wonderful as my heart calmed down while it was on. Typical. Since then, I bought a Wellue 24-hour AI home ECG and will be going on Tuesday armed with results from that to see my cardiologist in the hope he will have a solution.

Thankyou for the response. What does an ablation involve is that surgery and are you awake for it?? I feel ok in the morning then as the day goes on when iv been busy it kicks off. Don't want to quit my job. Iv been in touch with my cardiologist to see if I can hurry the 24 hour ECG but like you probably said I will probably get no palpitations while it's on! How often do you get yours a day?
I had a general anaesthetic so I was out and home later in the day. I think for AF, there's more likelihood of an overnight stay. Many here have reported having a local anaesthetic which renders them drowsy and seem to not mind. It was my first ever op so I was happier to be out!
I think mine are pretty much all of the time sometimes, but then, for whatever reason, they will go away for a good while - even weeks. This past few weeks, they have been at their worst and I have had a few AF episodes. I don't suffer badly with any of these, just the wearing mental stress that accompanies it.

Good Morning, I would encourage you to contact your doctor to inform them of the pain and anxiety you are currently experiencing and check if the Holter Monitor can be brought forward.
Kind regards

Yes iv contacted my cardiologist to see if I can bring it forward but heard nothing back yet. I feel ok touch wood today but if it happens again il be calling the Dr again
