I was diagnosed with RVOT in 2013 and have had PVCs for years. Over the past few weeks I’vd had regular bouts of increased heart rate - between 80s and mid 90s - for up to 2 hours at a time, (that’s high for me) with thumping ectopics. This is scary. I take Flecainide and Verapamil and can’t help thinking this shouldn’t be happening. Also, a blood test 2 weeks ago showed raised potassium, at 5.5, I’ve been asked to take the test again but am worried sick I’m about to have a cardiac arrest. Has anyone else been through this? All comments welcome.

Raised heart rate and regular ectopics
I had a successful ablation for svt in May 2019 but still needed a PM in September. I still get couplets & runs of pvc's which also trigger an increased HR it lasts probably 10/20 seconds but they are a damned nuisance. My EP increased Bisoprolol from 1.25 to2.5 6 weeks ago to try & reduce the pvc's but so far without any success!! I fear a complete node ablation being recommended!!!
Hi Bedlington14
I found your post searching for NSVT and trying to find others like me. Have you had any resolve to this issue? What have your doctors said about it all?
Hi Tiffw28, I had a phone call with a Consultant back in April, he was reassuring and increased my dose of Verapamil (and Flecainide if necessary). He also referred me back to my original Consultant to discuss an ablation, but I haven’t heard from him yet, due to the pandemic probably. So all was well until yesterday, when I had a run of ectopics and tachycardia that lasted about 45 minutes. I took an extra Verapamil and eventually it settled down but it needs resolving, but it’s really scary while it’s happening. Take care, Julie.
