Omeprazole withdrawal

I recently halved my daily omeprazole 20mg for 2 weeks then stopped taking it. Since then in addition to the expected acid rebound I have had missed beats type arrhythmias every day for the last 15 days sometimes lasting 8hrs.

The arrhythmia could of course be due to something else going on which coincided with my stopping taking omeprazole.

Has anyone else ever heard of this?

Just wondering why you have come off Omeprazole when it's pretty well accepted that the digestive system & heart problems are so closely connected! 20mg Omeprazole keeps my acid reflux in check constantly!

Re stomach acid,try 1/4 teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda in a tumbler of water 4 or 5 times a day.

I don't take that medication but I'm hoping your cardiologist told you to stop taking it. You should consult with your cardiologist ASAP

I have heard that some palputations are due to digestive issues..i told this GP and cardiologue. Both smile and saud NO but i know its connected..for reference please watch you tube Dr Sanjay Gupta cardiologue from york..he explains everthing..

How long did your acid reflux symptoms last? I am on my day 5 of reflux 😩
