Thankyou for sharing JayTay. Propanolol is a beta-blocker prescribed to treat heart rhythm disorders / angina and high blood pressure, to name just a few conditions it can effectively treat. It is prescribed to control the irregular often rapid heart rhythm that many experience. It works by slowing the heart rhythm to make the blood flow around the body much easier.
Have you spoken to the doctor to explain the side effects you are currently experiencing? If you find they persist, please contact the surgery as they may be able to prescribe an alternative.
Thank you very much for your reply, it means a lot to me. I have 14.5. meeting with a cardiologist. We'll see what he tells me. My short episode of VT was in my sleep. Here is the approach and that part of the holter where it is isolated.
Hello Jay, I also suffered from vtach, I am on sotalol 80g twice a day. You might want to talk with your cardiologist about changing meds. It has been almost 3 years for me, I adjusted my diet to a vegetarian, gluten free, alcohol free diet rich in magnesium and potassium. I swim 🏊♂️ almost every day which makes me feel relaxed. I also keep working on my slow nasal breathing. Apart from the libido... I feel better than before.
Hey Sustain, How did you discover VT? I wore a holter ekg monitor for 7 days. And it showed one short episode of VT (ventricular tachycardia) in my sleep. I have an appointment with a cardiologist in 15 days. I'm really afraid of VT because I've read that it's dangerous. Do you have any problems?
Hello Bibika, Vtach is multiple PVC's together, 5 or more. If you only have 1 short episode it's less worrisome, although vtach should always be taken seriously. Of course talk to your cardiologist or EP, you can also learn from the forum how to calm your heart. I discovered about it when I was monitored while hospitalized for rapid afib. My vtach was sustaining which could have been lethal...

All three if my adult kids have tried it for anxiety. One also takes it for benign arrhythmias. They take 20 mg. One went up to 40 mg and his hair started falling out. He didn’t like it at all. It made him tired. The second one didn’t like it either -said it made him depressed so only tried it twice. The third one takes it as needed but it makes her tired. But the doses you are taking are much higher than any of them have taken. Maybe switch it to a different beta blocker or talk to the dr about lowering the dose? Hope this helps…
