Do PVCs+valve problem lead to heart failure?

I’m hoping someone out there might be able to give me some reassurance and may be going through something similar. I’ve had PVCs for years and have Mitral valve regurgitation too (mild to moderate). I’ve been taking Verapamil and Flecainide for 5 years but have decided to have an ablation. I’m really worried that having PVCs and valve regurgitation leads to heart failure. I work as a gardener and am sometimes exhausted after only a few hours. Has anyone else had this? Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

I to have mitral valve prolapse and palpitations and get very tired after 2 hours of medium housework,I take Bisoprolol 1.25 and a statin. Bisoprolol does make me feel lightheaded and tired so I put it down to that. I am an active 72 year old, retired so don,t have to worry about working.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve requested another echocardiogram to check if my valve problem has got worse. The fatigue has been happening more frequently of late, to the point when, if I’m out gardening, I have to come home and go to bed. I’m 60, and would go for valve replacement if it was offered. I hope your fatigue doesn’t affect your life too much.

Same here, I go to bed and read. My valve was checked last year because I have Svt and was going to have an ablation but decided to wait and see,I,ve had 7 attacks in 2 and half years, stress does tip me over the edge sometimes. My daughter has 2 bedlington dogs, I was referring to your title. People do not know how this affects us but we are luckier than some who have major problems, so far my old heart is still ticking. I like gardening, shortly moving to a bungalow in Canvey island Essex from a noisy flat due to some being rented, youngsters have no consideration for anybody. Hope all goes well with your valve, they said mine was within normal limits.

Good news that your valve was within normal limits. Yes, stress is a major factor. I chose ‘Bedlington’ as my title because my husband used to own a Bedlington terrier and loves them! I know quite a few people who’ve had ablations and it’s worked well for them. I have to say I don’t like the thought of it but I’m going to bite the bullet and go for it. Good luck with everything.
