I've been experiencing unexplained tachycardia just had my 24 ECG results wondering if anyone has experienced similar.
My results showed
2x Ectopic SVT beats
A heart rate ranging from 50bpm-184bpm!!
Mean heart rate 98bpm
Been referred to cardiology as I'm symptomatic when tachy but obviously reluctant to prescribe anything incase my 50bpm decreases during those episodes!
Any ideas what could cause this?

There is an association with playing sport. Mine showed up when I was 73 and started training again. 254 bpm. Never shows up on the hospital's equipment though, it gets picked up by my Garmin and displayed on Strava. They tried me on Statins and Bisoprolol but every so often my blood pressure went too low and it made me feel like I was dying. So now I am only on Apixaban in case my heart produces a clot.
I still train and compete but I shorten my ride if I detect an abnormally high heart rate. Say above 165 bpm. Only happens about once a fortnight. I'm 76 now. I should say the consultant told me not to race but I enjoy it so I told him that I was going to ignore that advice. After all I'm not going to live forever whatever I do, so I may as well do the things I enjoy while I still can.
