Would love to know what others here thing. I had a hysterectomy last year and retained my ovaries so I didn't plummet into menopause. During my hospital stay, the nurse told me that I have an irregular pulse. I had an ECG 2 weeks prior to my surgery and I kind of knew that I had an irregular pulse anyway, so I felt another ECG just wasn't necessary. I have been told that the lead up to menopause can cause heart palpitations, etc and it is reasonably common for women to experience them. I am having a monitor and ECG on the 22nd November as I never have a normal pulse. I do not have any other symptoms. My heart skips beats whenever someone takes my pulse and it never has a regular beat. My older brothers are doctors and have told me that it is probably going to be ectopic heartbeats. Any information would be appreciated. I am 53.
