Change in ways return to sinus rhythm

For the past 18 months when my AF returns to sinus rhythm it is followed by a very fast heart rate 125 bpm for up to 12 hours and then slows down to normal. I guess I now have 2 problems now. Any ideas.

Hello there. Do you have a Kardia that will record what your heart gets up to? You could then show your recordings to either your doctor or consultant and get an opinion.

I remember reading that AF can evolve into atrial flutter. Perhaps it’s possible that you’re experiencing an episode of flutter when your AF reorganizes into a regular (I.e. non-chaotic) rhythm.

It could be atrial flutter [2:1 conduction with atrial rate of 250 = 125 ventricular rate] or atrial tachycardia (I’m no doctor but I’ve had both. My atrial flutter was 150bpm). Best speak to your doctor.
