Flying with SVT.

I'm having to fly for the first time since I've been diagnosed with SVT back in 2015 of May. I've had two ablations and when I come back from my trip on May 29th I go through my third ablation. Since then they have put me back on cardizem and they've had me on Xanax for a while. Has anyone ever flown with SVT. I'm a little nervous considering that I do going to tax a lot throughout the day. Thanks for your help this is really difficult for me and it's nice to find a community that understands what I'm going through because my family doesn't seem to understand what I'm dealing with on a daily basis and how I feel and the symptoms.

Hi Amy,

I have afib and will be flying May 22 to visit family 2,000 miles away. I just saw my cardio doctor and he told me to carry my Xanax because he knows I'm prone to anxiety attacks. My afib is very seldom, so in that respect, I am fortunate. I have a Loop monitor and have had it for about 1-1/2 years and so far the longest I've been in afib (once) was 8 minutes, other than that, mostly PAC's. He told me to take the Xanax when I first board, use my earbuds to relax and carry my lower dose Cardiizem in case I get an attack of SVT or Afib. I'm also on Cardizem, 120ER once daily. Good luck, the best thing to do is try and relax, which I know is so difficult to do, especially when we're in the air, but hopefully everything will go well for both of us!

I have SVT and flew -only short flight between London and Norway - last year without any problems. I'm on 2.5 bisoprolol and my GP prescribed diazepam to be taken before the flight. I was very nervous and feared this would trigger an attack but fortunately that didn't happen. I also booked assistance at the airports and it was good not to have to walk the long distances between boarding/landing and customs.
