Looking for some advice, I have been offered a third RF Ablation and have 6 months to make a decision and was wondering if anyone else has had three and if they had any increased issues afterwards / advice on risks from a third time?
Many thanks!

I've had 2 no problem, and I'd have a third if offered, but drugs are working at the moment. Many others on the other forum (the AFA one) have had more. I think one guy had 8, is that possible??? Anyhow, might be worth asking over there?
Hi Koll, thank you for your feedback 😊 I posted on the AF group and got a ton of responses and know that one person had up to 5! Definitely great knowledge and advice from that bunch!
Stay on drugs to control for as long as possible. I went in for my fourth and ended up with emergency open heart surgery and on life support! Uncomplicated SVT can succeed but A/fib,Aflutter and narrow complex tachycardias are notoriously difficult to resolve. The more ablations you have the more scarring you get which increases your risk of narrowing the atria which in turn increases the risk of puncturing aorta with the sheath. It’s a recognised complication but never explained. After my second ablation I had to increase my drugs from 80mg daily to 240mg daily as it. Made it worse. They couldn’t stimulate flutter so just ablated where they thought they were coming from. If you go ahead ask for reassurance they will do nothing if they can’t map effectively! It’s too late for me, but not for you. Best of luck and I really hope things improve for you.
