I had ICD fitted 8 years ago after several bouts of VT aged 52 now 60 and I've been absolutely fine since then.
Im back to work with quite a physical job and my journey has been one of total success..However its a genetic complaint and unfortunately my son aged 29 has had ICD fitted a couple of days ago after bouts of VT s.
His condition deteriorated significantly over last month or so from having no VT s to several every day and with family cardio history ,cardiologist made decision to fit ICD.
Unfortunately after taking just a few steps he still feels the VT s coming on and as expected he feels the device starting to pace him.
So from my experience I understand that although his heart will never be allowed to beat at VT rates as it will be paced my concern is whether my son will be able to live a normal life without his heart being paced continuously i.e. 10 times a day.
His medication is 2 x 2.5 mg Bisopropol every day.
Any relevant info would be greatly appreciated.
