Hi everyone! I'm new here, and tbh, I thought my days of poring over hysterectomy posts were behind me. I had a hysterectomy in 2011, as I had multiple fibroids, the largest was the size of a melon. For the last year, I have been having pelvic pain and pressure, some light spotting, and an extreme worsening of my IBS symptoms. I tried low FODMAP diet in January which didn't make any difference. For the last 3 months, I have had really bad pain and cramping on my lower left side with pain in my lower back and down my left leg. I am due to have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy on Friday, and yesterday I had a routine ultrasound to prepare for the scopes.
The big surprise was the ultrasound technician telling me I had a large uterus full of fibroids. When I told him that couldn't be possible as I had already had a hysterectomy, he said that he could see a large mass where my uterus should be. I am scheduled for an MRI before the scopes on Friday morning, but I am absolutely terrified.
Does anyone know if fibroids can grow back if there is a small piece of cervix left for example, or could this be a sign of ovarian cancer?
Thanks for reading xx
