I avoid all meat, especially red or processed which is full of additives and other chemicals and only use low-sodium salt (if needed), added at the table, much preferring black pepper, mixed spice, turmeric, cumin etc to flavour soups (homemade from scratch) & even oatmeal, instead of sugar or honey and adding nuts or raisins for extra fibre. Once you stop eating chocolate or other sugary confections, you realise very quickly you don't miss it at all - ditto with fizzy, sugary drinks (and any kind of alcohol or smoking"too, I imagine, having never used either). A little willpower at the start is all you need - after 3-5 days it becomes a habit that will lead you towards a happier, healthier and probably longer, richer life!

Hi, Like you I avoid as many additives as possible, but I still eat meat as I am B12 deficient and also gluten intolerant.
Cheers, Midori
