Self Management Course 30.6.2021

Today I begin my 7 weeks of my Self Management course (for my ILD (organised by Bury & Rochdale Care Org Northern Care Alliance Trust (Expert Patients Programme Self Management Serivice

Looking at their paperwork they ve given us a self action plan, a Thick Book Self Management of Long Term Health Conditions & Paperwork Associated with the Eatwell Guide - its 1-3pm every Wednesday

So we ll see how it goes

I had to speak to the Manager of the woman who confirmed it was taking place because when she confirmed it at the time I had a college tutorial with my support worker on the same day & her response was CANT YOU CANCEL IT!!!! (bear in mind the caps represent the aggresive way & in her tone of voice that she said it ) & when my college tutor support worker phoned me to tell me she could no longer support me because she'd been seconded to assist someone with learning difficulties -I phoned this woman back to tell her she said Oh Fantastic in a way that sounded victorious -ie thank god thats been cancelled -it seemed that way to me

The only thing that prevented me from taking it further was the manager asked me the day date & time it happened which I didnt record (& regret NOT doing it) otherwise I wouldve done so in time although I remain furious about her unprofessional behaviour I've calmed down & just moved on -if Id had those details I think Id ve taken it further (I figured that when the woman who acted aggresively towards me who said she didnt remember it got away with it because I dint have those details to remind her

So Im starting this course so I ll let you know how it went

Today -just discussion - introductions -whats going to be in the course , distraction techniques , ways to manage pain by thinking of other things - drawing up an action planDone via MS Teams -& I came face to face with that woman who was very aggressive. -At the end of the day when they mentioned making contact on a Monday I took the opportunity to show the woman up in front of everyone by telling her that every fortnight on a Monday afternoon I go to college (which is the truth) & said its non negotiable & cant be cancelled (to teach her a lesson) I could see a slight smirk on her face that probably said "flippin eck!!"

She said I can contact me Monday morning which I said was ok

Made me feel very good I have to say

yes im sure they will .I ll continue to keep showing her up if a situation arises in the same way - if it doesnt then I wont -but it ll teach her to be so unprofessional

Ive requested to her manager it goes on her record in line with their policiies & procedures whether she does is another story

I have seen that happen to lots of nasty people that they end up reaping what they have sowed when they were cruel to others.

Oh that's a shame it shouldn't have been made so stressful for you.

I really hope your course is interesting/helpful for you, even if the teacher is a bit abrupt.
