It is difficult to find cost-effective low-protein, keto, high calories foods, but I had an avocado the other day (I find it difficult to find good, ripe avocados)
Any ideas?

The ones with “Ready to eat” ones are a possibility. They are not ready to eat in my experience, but don’t take as long as the others to ripen up. Maybe putting them on a window sill in view of the sun might help.
I have the same problem with mangoes! The supermarket I buy them from advertise them as 'ripe and ready' but I have to ripen them on my window sill for several days.
My local supermarket sell "ripe" avocados... and if I can find a ripe one it is OK.It seems that if they are not ripe when I buy them, they never get ripe.
I have been making my own mayonnaise. It's a great way of upping the fat content of a dish. A simple bowl of salad leaves will be low carb and protein, and with a generous serving of mayo, high fat.
Mayonnaise and avocado is another way to go. Or aioli and steamed artichoke.
