Hi everyone. This article talks about how Service Dogs are able to help people with their control of blood sugars and carbs. so they won’t go low (become Hypoglycemic ) or go too high ( Hyperglycemia). Please see below for the article on the DRWF on HU at: healthunlocked.com/drwfdiab...

Hi Leah, I’ve seen some research on this and it’s so impressive and what a great potential life saving companion, a dog.

So this is interesting and great news. 😊

Thank you, Jerry! I had been thinking of this for a long time, but wasn’t able to get a DSD for myself.

Such very clever beautiful animals, obviously here for a very good reason, it's just a shame man is only just finding that out after so many years.

Yes, some dogs are helpful for many different types of disabilities/health conditions and it’s hard to believe it took a while for Scientists to come up with a possible way to know how to have dogs warn their owners something isn’t right health wise. Before I had gotten my CGM, I was thinking of getting my own DSD (Diabetes Service Dog), but it wasn’t possible almost 6 years ago.

Would you consider it now Leah? You'd have all that love too?

It depends on where I can go to meet with a trainer that deals with Diabetes and is Certified.😀👍

There’s one place that I had talked to years ago about getting a DSD, but it turned out they lied about training the dogs.😢

That's awful. How did you find out about them lying?

I called another company and the owner/trainer that deals with mobility/Epilepsy issues/seizures told me and I also saw a news report about the one that I had tried to get a dog from being said that the dogs were expensive and only act like pets-- not tried to do what was being offered. So, I looked into getting a CGM after an eye doctor said that I had mild Diabetic Retinopathy.

Goodness, you must have been so glad you found out about them before paying them anything. x

Yes, they wouldn't even reply to the message I sent years ago before getting all that information from the other owner/company and the news report. I was told that the ones from the place that lied about training makes people pay a lot for a dog that will be a playful and new family member, but it won't do what you need it to be adopted for.

I hope that some action has been taken against these people as surely that's classed as fraud?

I'm not sure what happened to them after being put on the local news back then. Heard nothing new about them since then.

I hope that someone has done something, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with that. x

I hope they at least got fined for dishonesty/untrue company promises/health practices.

Thank you for bringing that up! I saw the news about that last night during dinner time. It's wonderful that they can do things to help with COVID, too. :-)

Hi Leah, thank you for sharing this wonderful article about the power of service dog for diabetes. It gives us so many perspectives on such important role our future babies have in our lives. This gives me inspiration to make post about the power of Sonya purring 😁 Have a wonderful day! 🤗🙏❤️
