Anyone experiencing the delights of diverticular disease? I find it hard to digest fresh fruit and veg but need to have these in my diet. Any advice?

How long have you been having digestive issues? What does your doctor suggest? When was your last appointment with your doctor? Did the doctor say that you can use digestive enzymes/medication for meals/snacks? Do you have a list of food that you can eat?😀👍🌈

Hi my friend has this and I read some stuff up in a book for him it said don't eat high fibre foods I understand this is pockets in your colon that go inward and food gets trapped in them, you can look up what foods to avoid or ask doctor you want to see a dietician he said I could when I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis but I didn't need to go as I read books and looked on internet and I've been clear for6 half years best of luck Gillian mckeith is good I would look up a NHS site tho not just anyghing😊Mandy xx

I just had a bout of it. Metamucil seems to clear it up. I think it was sunflower seeds I ate.

My husband has this condition and we make sure to avoid all seeds in his diet. This includes granary bread. He can’t eat large meals, so he tends to eat five small meals/snacks throughout the day. He also can’t eat large amounts of fruit or veg. But he does find that ready to eat prunes are a good addition to his diet. He eats these a few times each day. Before he started eating prunes, he would take fibogel a few times each day but now he doesn’t need to.
