Hi. Different diets suit different people but the general principles mean eating a variety of food types. Unprocessed food is definitely much better for digestion so try to cook from scratch using plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Lots of those and food that has a high fibre content like wholegrain cereals and rice. Not too much in the way of sweetened sugary food though. There is advice on the NHS website and elsewhere on line. My advice would be to stay well away from special diets or fancy supplements . If you can eat a balanced diet incorporating all the major food groups then that's the best for digestive health.

You will feel better overall

Good luck

Thanks for your comment, I also try to avoid sugar rich food items from my diet list.

I'm no expert but plant-based foods move through your digestive system in about 1/3 the time that meats and fish do. Additionally natural probiotics (the refrigerated type, not supplemements) like yogurt, naturally fermented sauer kraut, etc. can build up good gut bacteria which aid in digestion.

We're all a bit different, but I'd focus on fiber (not too much though!) from veggies & legumes primarily, and to make sure you drink enough water.

I would say, avoiding of highly processed foods is the way to go, plus restricting or avoiding alcohol and coffee and carbonated drinks. We can't exclude all things that are bad for digestion but we can restrict the obvious ones to healthy tolerable levels and take up, those food habits that help digestion.

A daily probiotic drink works for me, plus a freshly squeezed lemon in the morning in a pint of water, with two tbsp of apple cider vinegar.

Eating smaller meals also helps.
