The last few days have been somewhat interrupted, hence my delay in posting the final stage to completing the cylinder.
Once pickled, cleaned up, filed and put through the magnetic polisher several times, all that remains is to cut away the excess at either end of the angled D shape wires, ( I cheat, I use the tin snips to carefully cut away the excess, instead of sawing it away with a jeweller's fretsaw!) Sshhhoosh!!
Once removed, you have to tidy up and file some more - I do it in stages as it's tough on the shoulder! If closely observed on the right, you can still see a fine little rim still left, as you do not want to cut too close... This is what gets filed away very carefully.
