The last few days have been somewhat interrupted, hence my delay in posting the final stage to completing the cylinder.
Once pickled, cleaned up, filed and put through the magnetic polisher several times, all that remains is to cut away the excess at either end of the angled D shape wires, ( I cheat, I use the tin snips to carefully cut away the excess, instead of sawing it away with a jeweller's fretsaw!) Sshhhoosh!!
Once removed, you have to tidy up and file some more - I do it in stages as it's tough on the shoulder! If closely observed on the right, you can still see a fine little rim still left, as you do not want to cut too close... This is what gets filed away very carefully.

Hi Poppy_the_cat as you know I've been following these posts with interest and admiration on PWB: healthunlocked.com/positive... I think that you meant to post this and your subsequent posts on PWB, I love your handiwork so was thrilled to see this regardless.
I am amazed at what you've made with your hands so which community you post in is fine with me.
