I'm not sure I follow...Where did you feel the pain?

How did you let your acid reflux out?

I felt the pain in my throat and I got the acid reflex out by breathing in and breathing out super hard

Hi, it's probably worth going to your doctor for a second opinion.

Not 100% sure, but your title mentions choking. Do you find when you eat or drink sometimes it's like the food/drink gets stuck and you can't breath? Then sometimes you're sick after choking?

If so it could be EOS disease and good news is it's treatable. Alot of doctors initially diagnose acid reflux but the reflux is a side effect of the EOS.

Basically, the oesophagus becomes inflamed (my biopsy shows rings around mine) and shrinks so every now and again I'll be drinking or eating and my throat closes up and I can't breathe. If I'm unfortunate enough to be eating I also choke. 🥴 I then have to stay calm and I'm either sick which dislodges the food or I keep fizzy water in the fridge as that helps clear it... although not always. Once or twice the choking was so bad I couldn't swallow the water and was violently sick, even over the poor cat, I still don't think he's quite forgiven me lol.

However, good news is its treatable! They think mine is the result of a long term reaction to my asthma inhaler. It can also be a response to food allergies.

I've been under the PRUH for a year now and mine reactions are very rare now that its being treated. You need to have a camera down your throat a few times during the treatment for biopsies which isn't fun so be warned but it's a means to an end. They then prescribe the relevant treatment and it's really helped. I've only had acid reflux 4 times this last year where before it was all the time. Choking/being sick was a few times a week but since starting treatment it's completely turned around and has only happened a handful of times this year. Dr reckons it should stop altogether soon, yay.

So sorry if this isn't relevant and I've rambled, but the choking made me think it might be worth mentioning as I was treated for reflux for ages and it wasn't that, like I said, it was a side effect of EOS.

Hope you feel better soon and get it sorted out.
