Wow Hidden - your poached egg looks fantastic! I know your bread is home baked, and it looks absolutely delicious! I love baked tomatoes too. A great breakfast. Yum!
Awe thanks Zest as I've seen your breakfasts. π
Ooh I love tomatoes on the vine and they are ones that I buy just above every week as I love tomatoes. Your bread looks really tasty, an excellent start to the day Jerry.π

Thank you Hidden thats really good that you fast. π
Sadly I can not make bread like you Jerry, and I refuse to pay the price for that horrible GF bread in the shops, that has not improved in all these years
Hi Jerry. That looks good. Iβve been experimenting with bread recipes recently and have found that adding psyllium husk to the doves farm flour and baking the bread over a pan of hot water for the first twenty minutes, gives a loaf that is both crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle....just like real bread! π
Thank you MTCee thats interesting as when I made my own bread mix I added psyllium husk and Xanthan gum as its a great binder/thickener so I'll have to try it again with a bought mix. ππ
Some foods compliment one another and Iβm a coeliac so gluten is my nemesis.
You have to look after yourself with insulin resistance, we have a pre diabetic topic section and we have close links with both DI and DRWF communities. π
I bet thereβs someone eating the other half to your breakfast, beans, mushrooms, bacon ect
Going to have to have a go at making bread, tried years ago & tasted other peopleβs & been very disappointed but cooking over water sounds interesting!
Strangely, I eat nothing at breakfast but a large plate of cereal (albeit wholewheat and very low in sugar) with low fat milk, and it hasn't stopped my cholesterol going down to 2.8 and my BMI to 21.
So in my case, switching away from white flour and sugar seems to have allowed me to keep eating cereal.
Good for you Onegramatatime a BMI of 21 is perfect, I don't eat wheat so eat alternative grains and I dint need to lose weight as my BMI is between 20 and 21.
I'm so glad that you've found what works for you as thats what it's all about. ππ
