When I met my husband, he was “don’t put fruit in my salad” - I have spent covid-19 to experimenting with recipes and self invented recipes.
So,
Buddha Bowl
Vegan Mexican shells
Samosas, beans w. garlic, potato salad and beetroot/carrot salad
Spicy green salad with plums
My local ‘apple dealer’
Ruby Salad with chilli and fruit
...
My husband: “this is so tasty”.
After 11 years✌️ -he added: “..maybe less strawberries.”
P.S. it’s a good blackberry year - just get out there, *pick, pick, pick, pick, pick...* + they are really healthy, so freeze some for winter and use them as topping on skyr, in salads etc.

Congratulations! All of your salads sound fantastic. You have just encouraged me to be more creative. Granni B
It’s all about being creative also in these uncertain times, when we don’t know what Tesco have in - so yeah I’m just trying it out and making adjustments... the green salad came from; ok we don’t have anything... I’ll just make a salad of everything green we have 🙃 peas, edamame beans, green chillis, green lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumber & red onion + two plums it tasted perfectly and went well with my asparagus tarts. x
What a fantastic range of delicious looking dishes - such vibrant colourful produce, I can imagine how tasty and scrumptious it is. Those edamame beans look so vibrantly green - I love your collage, and it's lovely to hear your husband enjoys these delicious meals too.
What I do to edamame beans - take them out of the freezer, put them in a sieve and pour a bottle of boiling water over them, I don’t fancy too cooked vegs when they don’t have to be. It also leaves them with a bit of ‘bite’ 😋
Hey Gurli, thanks for the tips, I have always boiled edamame for 3 min but I will now pour boiling water over them
Hey Gurli you did it big time and with style! This is a very appetising collage and I bet that your Buddha bowl is delicious, so thanks for joining us and posting this and you’re going to fit in real well on HE and I look forward to more of your posts. 🌈😊
Hey absolutely the more attractive the more appetising food is, I expect that you eat nasturtiums as they’re easy to grow and healthy, so good for you. 🌈😊
+ they’re full of C-vitamins, I think my mum told me in early 90s (as a little girl) they’re good for our immune system - I guess we would have to eat more than four, but better than non at all. So oranges, lemons & lime is big part of cooking too 🍊🍊🍋🍋🍋
Just went to see my fig tree today - something good is coming 🤲
Hi Gurli, your meals look amazing. I do a carrot salad similar to yours, but with carrots, raisins, freshly squeezed orange juice and 1/2 a lemon, so fresh tasting.
Wow those salads look amazing . So colourful . Makes my salad (lettuce Cucumber & tomato) feel a bit tame. You have inspired me to go shopping and get some additions for my salad days . Thank you
No I do not, I didn’t think you all were so positive about it - I was just proud that I turned my husband from “no fruits in my salads” to “this it tasty”. But maybe I should do an instagram, thanks for the idea x
These look very tasty & I am starting to feel hungry for the first time in ages - I have been off food ( of any kind ) for what seem like for ages, probably because I am on my own & it seems such a bore to have to prepare & cook everything.
Not such a problem in winter as I can cook enough to section up & stock the freezer
Anyone else have tasty recipes without fish would probably appeal to me.
Im not sure if there is a particular "recipe" page anywhere specific, as I am just new to the site, and still finding my way round , but, there are usually some lovely meal ideas floating about, often on the daily diary page or the appropriate daily weight loss page. Good luck finding some.
