Hello every one just thought the other day put this simple recipe on here.

For those who wish to cook but scared frightened too complicated too many ingredients.

Have fears of oven and cutting them selves.

An easy way is to use a slow cooker I first used this recipe for one.

Long time ago it is one of my favourite recipes and you can not go wrong if your never sure what to do .

Also one other important thing is this the introduction to herbs spices and then you as a recipe change chop make it your own.

Light and full of flavour.

All you do is add everything and switch on.

INGREDIENTS.

Two Chicken Thighs per person. Season salt and Pepper.

Note add to a freezer bag add seasonings and seal shake .

Seasoned Chicken.

Onions buy ready chopped fresh or frozen

Carrots, Celery diced roughly. I used one large Carrot three sticks Celery need to use more if for numbers, remember can freeze excess for Mid week Sunday Soup.

Passata jar or carton. Jar 690g or 500 g.

Stock cube made up or gravy granules or anything you have.

I used a carton Passata and around quarter pint of stock.

Herbs Bay leaf, Thyme dried half a teaspoon.

Spices Fennel Seeds half a teaspoon.

White beans include Cannellini Haricot or Butter your choice.

Tomato puree and pinch of sugar or tomato ketchup just a touch, red wine vinegar a touch.

METHOD.

Add everything to a slow cooker on four hours slow.

Or Oven add to all a Casserole pot stockpot low medium heat around fan 150 degrees.

Couple hours.

One note please use the best ingredients you can afford.

Italian food is all about good ingredients cooked simply.

Thank you.

That sounds good! Do you soak or boil the beans first?

Hello yes thank you for asking question. I would advise can buy very good organic white beans on line or supermarket.

Canned or jarred, yes of course use dried beans too much time though up to you.

I add to dried beans when soaked over night used to.

If your interested cover with water soak 24 hours then when rinsed cooked add Potato Tomato and herbs usually ones that help digestion.

Potato and Tomato helps the skins of the beans the main problem we all have with beans to be digested safely.

Herbs if you can get this one Summer Savory never could.

Helps that problem or use these ones.

Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Fennel Seeds.

Can buy on line some retailers the well know one we all love. lol...

Just has these Italian suppliers the main thing is buying from the on line websites you get access to these .

Supermarket own brand some awful some good some excellent.

Another point look for these Companies will be worth it.

Biona is one Barilla and Maggi these are becoming available in the UK. If you live in the UK.

Napolina and some others look at the can for manufacture.

I purchased recently purchased Italian products only to find made in Germany ???

If live in the States lucky you a lot of the Italian products desire for and the store brands available .

Not here have to ask supermarket Managers and store staff.

Jarred beans mainly Chickpeas, Haricot Beans . In a stock or a liquid that is useful to add to Ragu.

Big ones and good quality my Spanish friends I used to meet say use these although not cheap.

Must add my Italian friends often add the quote I added if use good ingredients makes a difference.

Just a bit of advice.

I often use and have done use these German supermarkets not only fantastic range of Italian Produce and goods sad they do not do on line.

They are made and used by all the Italians imported great to use better taste low salt sugar organic jars Pasta sauce.

I buy jars Passata in bulk the best way if your paying as I did £2 + for a 690g jar wow one has to be thinking cheaper else where.

The price is always that because storage space costs money. Any supermarket. So buying on line bought 12 jars I use a lot.

Soup Ragu this only tomatoes blitzed up in a jar. So cost me around per jar lot less.

Plus free delivery this something must remember if shopping to stores the costs of your expenses.

Why shop on line.

I know cost me old days fuel when I had a car around £20 a trip if the shop is small is that worth it so bulk buy on line.

Do deals bulk buying . So choice is yours. AMAZON often do lets say buy tins or jars will say add another suggestion to the ones to buy.

Both brands at such and such as price calculator time evaluate and make a decision.

Often works out cheaper.

I am on a low income use AMAZON and happy to buy.

Did this with Pasta Whole grains wheat any Olive Oils costly supermarkets limited choices.

Please any question on Italian recipes produce please ask.

Any foodie questions any time.

If I do not know will happy to find out for you.

Please take care and pleasure to meet you

Thank you! I always buy my beans dry to soak and cook when I want them - but it does mean having to think about the next day and put them in soak!

Can I point out that if you use Dried beans, they need to be soaked, then boiled for 10-15 minutes, to leach out toxins before adding to a slow cooker. There was an incident recently when somebody put raw beans into a slow cooker and made herself very ill with the toxins as a result. Tinned beans will be fine as they are already cooked..

Hello thank you did mention this in my post.

Thank you for highlighting this.

I know never used dried beans not a lot used the techniques above Potato and Tomato. Boil and drain. From some Italian friends. Added in fresh herbs. Just fine it easier to use the tinned or have used jarred.

Please take care

I tried this today , very tasty and easy to make . Thanks will use thus recipe again.

Hello thank you very much this simple recipe can adapt change make it your be a pleasure to hear.

I actually freeze the sauce in big batches. Celery Carrot and Onions short shelf life means have a sauce to use.

Good one is Sunday roast use this with Chicken, roast .

Defrost out on a night time ready for Lunch.

Then just add to simply cooked Chicken, shredded. Warm through stockpot or pan.

Or use the base of the sauce for a variety of recipes.

Use different beans.

I actually knew someone used my recipe Christmas Day used Turkey . Made the sauce added Cooked Turkey.

Tubs freezer containers added the sauce cooled down froze. Labelled then no cooking just have to warm the sauce and meat through when defrosted.

Understand if you go to the Supermarket many freezer companies do one similar.

Company Birds Eye do roasted dinner in a box.

Do you do your own or pay a excessive cost for packages and environmental.

I rather do this, do this all the time.

Could do that with this good to do have and do many times. Chicken Minestrone soup will put recipe on later.

Please any questions please ask me.

Happy to help.
