Tea..

I'm just having a lovely cup of English breakfast tea, I thinks it's my favourite tea.

Have you got a favourite?

I agree I like a proper cup of tea. ☕️

Hi Hidden ,

I actually have two flavors of tea that are my favorites. They are: Green Tea and Lemon Zinger.😀👍

in reply to Activity2004

Green tastes odd i think, but i know lots of people like it. :)

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to

It depends on if the tea is mixed with other flavors. Each brand is different.😀👍

in reply to Activity2004

Its good for weight loss i hear.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to

It helps with sore throats and cold symptoms for me. Not sure about weight loss.

I like coconut tea and PG tips (pyramids).

I asked my dear hubby to get a packet of Tetley and he came back with three large boxes of PG because they were on some kind of multi buy offer. Way to go DH, buy 720 of the wrong tea bags :) :)

Having said that I am finding the PG quite acceptable :)

springcross in reply to sunny369

We got fed up with all the others as they were either too weak or two scummy (we live in a hard water area) but PG seem just right here.

I believe you can buy teabags specially for hardwater - no idea how/if that works. I use a water filter which removes some of the calcium

We tried them (I think it's Yorkshire tea that does them though not 100% sure) but they weren't really any different.

ChubbieChops profile image
ChubbieChops in reply to springcross

Yeah, I thought that would be the case :(

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to ChubbieChops

We have a water filter too (Brita) and I think this helps but more than that, I think putting the milk in as soon as the water is poured over the tea bag (unless you use a pot) seems to cut the scum right down providing you don't leave the bag in too long.

ChubbieChops profile image
ChubbieChops in reply to springcross

Ohhh, will try that though we're builders' tea people!

springcross profile image
springcross in reply to sunny369

Sorry, that should have been too (not two) scummy!!

Coconut tea sounds good.

Normally Tetley, and some decaf too.

Valerian is my preferred herbal choice.

Cheers!

Didn't know this existed. Who produces it? Might get some if it's OK with RA.

sunny369 in reply to springcross

Dr Stuart's is the brand (they do a nice range of herbal tea bags) I get it in a health food shop, some Holland & Barrett's do it too. It has a herby taste and smells of Valerian, quite earthy. I find it a relaxing tea for bedtime or moments of stress :)

Oh yesssss a cup of wonderful Yorkshire tea. It is the one thing I long for when away. We have very hard water here on the coast so use tea made for hard water.

in reply to kitchengardener2

Would a water filter make a difference?

kitchengardener2 profile image
kitchengardener2 in reply to

We do put all our drinking water through a filter and it does help. We are advised to buy the cheapest kettles, washing machines etc that we can live with because they just don't last due to lime scale.

Small price to pay for living in Gods own county.

in reply to kitchengardener2

Not good,

Yorkshire is a lovely place no doubt about that.👍

springcross in reply to

Probably, we have a Brita filter jug.

Twinings Everyday tea, delicious. I like lemon & ginger with a spoonful of honey if my throats sore.

I like lemon and ginger too..

I wish you could get Ginger tea on it's own without other things.

in reply to springcross

You can, I have some, it's a company called "The natural health market" I got it on amazon, organic ginger tea.

Do you want to hear a story,About tea ?

I was staying on a camp site at Scarborough last year & was going out for a walk into town ( 3 miles) said to my daughter we’re nearly out of tea bags, I’ll call for some on my way back.

I set off down this huge hill & as I got to the traffic lights at the bottom a guy crosses on to my side of the rd & starts asking if I’d heard about the tree that had come down ?

No I says, so a few hundred yards down the rd, we come across the tree that had been all cut up & I took a picture of him sat on it but here’s the kicker, he has a hat on his head, Sri Lanka cricket & he used to work over there in the Tea industry & his mate sends him loads of tea over every so often & hands me a bag of loose tea, Darjeeling I think, just so funny how I said I would pick up tea & a tea guy meets me & offers me a bag, how weird is that!

O, my favorite is yorkshire but drink pg tips over here in Florida, cos it’s half the price!

What a coincidence lol

I love a cup of Earl Grey. I have recently started making a pot adding a lemon ginger green tea bag. The taste is good and I have added antioxidants to my tea. When I can't sleep at night a cup of chamomile hits the spot. A cup of chi is a treat in the afternoon.

You seem to know a lot about it Analeese.
