UK high streets embrace Veganuary and go vegan in style.

Hi everyone, surprise surprise vegan food is the latest must have on the high street as many top brands embrace them, there's a comprehensive list of Waitrose vegan offerings as well as some interesting looking take aways.

Here's a link to an article in todays Daily Mail:

I think that it's fantastic how a plant based diet is now a high street necessity as I feel all special diets should be embraced by the high street.

Veganuary is listed under events on here:

I remember the 80s when low calorie high fibre and low fat diets were in vogue and aerobics.

It’s consumer demand in action Alicia it was on the news as one of the big growth markets for 2020 and this is quite a good article with some enticing photo’s.

As for bring it on I think that you’ve brought it on and with the roar of a hurricane as the supply chain just can’t keep up with demand.

A great way to start the new year articles like this. 😊

Yes I agree Jerry, there's more land more demand for Vegan food, it certainly makes it easier when shopping i.e. Vegan cheese.

Veganuary also have some brilliant recipes hand I have to say you certainly cook a variety of plant based food which always looks yummy.

Aww thank you, I am very enthusiastic about Vegan food, there's so much variety. I'm also pleased to see the beauty market have embraced it as have the shoe and clothing market. The Vegan friendly boots I had for Christmas were very easy to find.

Oh it's a very positive way to start the New Year.

Hi

Thanks for putting these links, it’s really great news that more vegan friendly food is hitting the shops/cafes.

I love costa almond latte but they had no vegan food so now I can eat as well.

One thing I would mention most of these foods are processed so fairly unhealthy. As with any diet cooking from fresh is best lots of good vegan recipes around for anyone giving it a go, although having some ready made items in the fridge/freezer helped me when I first started. Good luck with anyone giving it a go 😃

Hi Dietwoman I agree that the best food is prepared at home from scratch. I'm also not a fan of fake meat products and would rather call a burger a bean burger than a fake meat one.

I think that some of the vegan offerings in health food shops are of much higher quality than in the supermarkets, it's also obviously big business and they all want to jump on the plant based bandwagon now.

Being a coeliac I've noticed the amount of vegan gluten free foods have increased so I've benefitted from the never ending consumer demand for all things plant based.

Jerry. 😀
