I saw an advert for a Pre and Probiotic which looked good and they are available through Amazon but I wanted to read about them first as they are priced in dollars and I don't trust everything I read of course.
I looked for them under Seed UK and came up with this article which again is American even though I typed in UK.
The moral of the story is try and purchase a probiotic that survives stomach acid.
Probiotics don't typically colonise our guts, they are like flying foreign troops in to help in a war. They help the good guys fight the bad guys, but for the most part they always leave afterwards.
Probiotic foods are also great, but should be avoided if you have histamine intolerance (aka hay fever).
I forgot to say to always check whether your probiotics need to be stored in the fridge, as temperature can also kill them before the even reach your stomach acid.
Thank you Cooper and I have just great the article from the link you provided and found it very interesting. I've been thinking for quite a while now that each person is different and would need a 'personslised' probiotic to work effectively.
I've got Pruritus and don't think Probiotics would be good for me at present even though I do have IBS.
Thats a really good point Alicia, I have low stomach acid, so have to take supplements for that, maybe if I leave of those supplements, the pro and pre botics will work better, as most of them do cost an arm and a leg
