Today is the first day of Sept and to some the beginning of Autumn, I love autumn and remember the harvest festivals when I was a child so see it as a time for an abundance of local fresh food from this years harvest.
The photo is of some hazelnuts, the squirrels obviously didn't get them so I feel very lucky and this is a small selection of my first crop.
Where the hazelnut trees grow was hidden with bracken/undergrowth that had been left neglected for a decade so it was wonderful finding this gorgeous and healthy tree in the bottom corner of the land.
If anyone has photo's of home grown goodies then please feel free to post them.

Thank you Zest and isn't it nice how something simple and is free makes us happy...π
A good amoung of nuts there Jerry. There is a Hazelnut Tree where I quite often go for a walk and ive been keeping my eye on them but they are still a bit green at the moment.
I've picked all our pears from the garden as they were quite big plus the branch was bending with the weight and wind.

Well I hope that you get some of the hazelnuts as I really foraging for some things. Your pears sound wonderful as I love home grown fruit like pears so enjoy. π

Yes I should be able to pick some, there have been quite a few on the ground. The pears look lovely but are unde ripe at the moment so I'll wait for them to ripen.π
