how many of you are badly affected by the smell of chlorine...we have I think a very heavy amount of chlorine to our tap water that makes me cough and hurts my lungs if I shower in the house.. so for the past 5 years I have made do with a hose that I hang up on my balcony and have no problem with the smell as it's an open area.
there is no water wasted as it all goes to water the plants so that makes me happy π
I have what I believe to be the best water purification system installed for drinking and cooking water..and make sure all the different types of fillers are changed regularly..
I am now planning to put in a large container to allow the chlorine to evaporate over night before use. and it's the monsoon season now so no problem with filing that up with rain.
just wondering if anyone else has difficulty breathing like in closed swimming pools.
I don't particularly like the smell of chlorine, and I didn't like swimming in chlorinated pools much as a child - so I think I am affected by it - and I tend to avoid it. But I don't do much swimming, so it doesn't really affect me much in daily life. I haven't noticed chlorine in the water we have at home, I do drink the tap water - but I usually drink filtered water (via the fridge).
Glad you're finding a way to cope, and that your plants benefit from the water afterwards.
I couldn't use the public swimming pools in London because of the strong smell of chlorine..but had no problem with it in my health club..I don't think I even noticed it in there.
I only used tap water for drinking back then and didn't use filtered water for myself..but I think I would put a water purification system in if I was still living in London.
Where do you live? I live in the USA, there's NO way that would be allowed. Chlorine is meant just for the pool. Not to say it's Perfect? Isn't there bottled water you can drink?
Wow, but I can't imagine drinking the water will eventually make you sick? Take Care
I personally don't have a problem with tap water in the UK.
Just to add to this, supermarket mixed lettuce is washed in chlorine that is 19x stronger than the chlorine in a swimming pool and the supermarkets reaction is: 'Our customers want a disinfected product'
When disinfected salad lacks appeal to me for some reason...π€’

I to was very happy with the water coming from our taps when I live in London..it was proven many times that it was cleaner then bottled water..but that was now 12 years ago.. from what I've been reading lately is that people are concerned about the plastics fibers that are now in the water in the UK and and other countries in Europe.
I didn't know about the use of chlorine for washing mix lettuce ..why would they go to such extreme lengths to wash them..π€
